At All Saints, we’re delighted to share in this special moment, welcoming children and adults alike as they begin their journey of faith.
Whether you’re arranging a baptism for a baby, an older child, or for yourself, our clergy team will guide and support you every step of the way.
Every baptism is personal and meaningful, and we’ll work with you to create a service that reflects your story, your faith, and your family.
To be baptised is to be named, blessed, and welcomed into the family of God, a community of faith that stretches across time and place.
Things to Know Before You Book

Who Can Be Baptised
We welcome people of all ages to baptism, babies, children, teenagers, and adults.
Baptism marks the beginning of the Christian journey, with promises made by parents, godparents, or candidates themselves.
Our clergy will help you understand the meaning of these promises and what baptism represents.

Choosing Godparents
If you’re arranging a baptism for a child, you’ll be invited to choose godparents, trusted people who will support and encourage your child as they grow in faith.
Godparents must themselves be baptised.
Adults being baptised may choose a sponsor instead, someone who will walk alongside them on their faith journey.

The Baptism Service
Baptisms at All Saints are usually held on Sundays, either as part of a small, dedicated service or within a main act of worship.
During the service, water is poured over the candidate’s head as a sign of cleansing and new life in Christ.
You’ll also be invited to make, or affirm, promises of faith and commitment, promises we’ll help you prepare for beforehand.
Your Event Checklist
- You (or your child) live in the parish or have a connection with All Saints Church.
- You’ve spoken with a member of our clergy about the meaning of baptism and what the promises involve.
- Godparents or sponsors have been chosen and are baptised Christians.
- You’ve agreed the proposed date and service format with the church office.
- You’ve completed and returned the baptism form.
- You’ve met with a member of the clergy to prepare for the day.
